The Supplement Shelf Saga
Are We Just Keeping Ourselves Afloat?
“Some people collect stamps, others collect shoes, but me? I collect supplements. It’s not exactly a hobby — it’s survival. But lately, I’m wondering if my pantry of pills is really fixing anything or just fueling my placebo addiction.”
Is it just me, or does everyone have a shelf teetering under the weight of supplements? Seriously, the other day I visited my sister’s house and her pantry looked like a GNC warehouse — bottles, powders, and capsules galore. Then I stopped by my boys place, and guess what? Same story. It’s like supplements are the new kitchen décor, right next to the air fryer and artisanal salt.
The more I thought about it, the more I realized we’re not just hoarding these things for fun. We’re all trying to plug gaps in our health that shouldn’t even exist. Our food, once the dependable source of nutrients, has become a shadow of its former self. Thanks to modern farming methods that strip the soil of nutrients and a diet dominated by processed foods, even fresh produce isn’t as fresh — or as nutrient-packed — as it once was. It’s like biting into an apple and wondering if it’s just pretending to be healthy.
So here we are, lining up our supplement armies. Not to gain superpowers or glow like Instagram influencers, but just to feel…normal…
